PET GROOMING
Frances is a certified dog and cat groomer with over 11 years experience, and can confidently provide a full range of grooming services.

PET STYLING
From breed specific clips, longer coat lengths, mow hawks, hand scissoring and more.

FLEA MANAGEMENT
Pets that come in with fleas will have no option but to be washed using products designed to repel fleas. This will only work on fleas currently on your pet and a treatment will still be required to prevent them returning, which the owner is expected to source. We will then complete a thorough clean up to remove all fur before the next pet arrives. Owners are notified as soon as fleas are found.

SKIN & COAT CARE
Frances provides customized skin therapies to promote healthy skin and coat, tailored to your pet's individual requirements. She can help restore skin that has been damaged due to medical conditions, injury or medications.

SAFETY
We use only vet-grade disinfectant that not only kills bacteria but also viruses. Baths, tables and tools are cleaned between each pet. Heating and cooling is installed to avoid overheating and discomfort. We only use products made by Iv San Bernard which has been certified by Safe Pet Cosmetics.
For cats, the trailer is completely enclosed during grooming to prevent escapees. Frances has also completed a pet first aid course.

PET WELLNESS
Your pet's wellness is our top priority. We take measures to reduce the stress levels in highly anxious and elderly pets. We will also check the health of your pet's skin and alert you to any issues. If your pet is not coping with the groom, you will be notified to come and collect them. If incomplete, we may have to arrange a follow up to complete the groom so it is less stressful for your pet. We use pet safe essential oils and may use Feliway or Adaptil sprays which are pheromone sprays if they need more support.

ONLINE BOOKING
Enjoy the convenience of booking your pet's grooming services online, at your own time and pace. Skin therapies are not currently available to book online as they are tailored to your pet's individual needs. Once we have assessed your pet's condition, we can provide you with a quote and action plan.

PET AESTHETICIAN
Our pet aesthetician services are designed to restore damaged skin back to health. We may be able to help reduce inflammation, bacterial and fungal infections, hydrate dry skin, restore an overproduction of sebum and regrow the coat on pets with alopecia. It is important to note that we are not vets or dermatologists. You will need to see a vet to treat the underlying causes. With our help, the vet treatments can work more efficiently, and we can reduce the chances of conditions returning.

Ozone therapy may benefit dogs experiencing skin conditions, inflammation, muscle and joint aches, allergies, yeast or bacterial infections, rashes, mites, hot spots, wounds and more.

Ozone hydrotherapy includes a 15 minute soak for $50

Ozone ear therapy is applied to the ears for 2 minutes. Each ear is $10

Unfortunately matting fees are necessary to cover the additional time and expense involved in removing mats.

The charges are as follows:

Dog Matting Fee $80 per hour (charged in 15 minute increments of $20). This charge applies whether shaving or de-matting

ABOUT SHEAR GROOMING

Hi, my name is Frances Sadler and I am the owner of Shear Grooming. I have been working as a certified dog and cat groomer for over 11 years. In 2026 I became Melbourne first Certified Pet Aesthetician. I have always been passionate about helping pets maintain good health and it breaks my heart to see pets visit me with inflamed and itchy skin. Now I am able to help with my tailored skin therapy plans. Skin therapy is not designed as a replacement to vet treatment but as an aid to help support vet treatments. Skin therapy is designed to help by nourishing the skin, restoring their PH levels, balancing sebum production, increasing skin hydration (so the skin can effectively heal itself), unblocking clogged pores, and soothing the skin. Skin therapy may be beneficial to dogs with skin conditions, allergies, yeast or bacterial infections, wounds, rashes, hot spots, ear infections, mites and more.

Whether it's grooming services or aesthetician services you're after, I'm here to help. I have particular skill in handling matting and elderly dogs. I have also had great success easing anxiety in pets who are anxious about grooming.

In March 2026, we welcomed onboard Ashleigh Rigby, a certified dog groomer and a cat groomer in training. Ashleigh has 3 years grooming experience and takes great care to keep the dogs calm and safe during the grooming process.
